The Benefits of Massage

Had a tough day at work?  Are the kids driving you up the wall?  Do you just need some time to yourself?  When was the last time you truly let go and gave in to serenity?

Here at Lifehouse Spa and Hotel we are dedicated to helping you relax and take care of your body and mind.   Our team of highly qualified therapists ensure that each spa treatment is tailored to your exact requirements to make sure that you get the most out of your spa experience.

In particular, massage therapy plays an important role as part of your overall health and wellness routine.  It’s more than just a heavenly pampering “me-time” treat!

Here are just a few of the benefits a good massage:

  • Stress-relief and relaxation: Not only can massage therapy soothe those tense muscles, it can also lower blood pressure as a result of improved blood circulation as well as relieving headaches and other stress-related ailments.
  • Pain-management: From sporting injuries to general aches and pains, our massage therapists tailor treatments to you and any problem areas you may have.
  • Flexibility: Massages work your muscles, connective tissues and joints. This can enhance flexibility and improve your range of motion. The long-term effects of regular massage can include the retention of joint fluidity, keeping you feeling younger for longer!
  • Skincare: Oils and creams used during treatments will be specifically selected  to suit your skin type. This personalised element of massage means we can work with you to provide the optimum treatment, enhancing the quality, appearance and texture of your skin.
The three main types of treatment we offer are ESPA, Decléor and Ishga:

ESPA has been declared a miracle treatment thanks to the de-stressing power it possesses. Let go of your everyday woes for an hour or so and take a well-deserved break with this treatment.  Hot stones are optional but highly recommended for a complete immersion into the realms of relaxation.

Renew your energy and rejuvenate tired skin with a Decléor treatment. Our Decléor Aromatherapy Massage is all about enveloping you in comfort, soothing your body and mind, and flushing away any pent up tension.

Or maybe you’re feeling a little adventurous? The Madagascan Escape Decléor Massage takes you to a whole new world, employing exotic techniques gathered from around the globe. Inspired by the fruits of Madagascar, this paradise for the senses has incorporated local means of meditation into a full body massage.

Ishga is derived from the Gaelic word for water and our Ishga spa treatments use seaweed for its natural therapeutic and healing properties. The seaweed is hand-harvested from turbulent Hebridean seas, known for being some of the cleanest waters in the world. This skin-firming and hydrating treatment encourages you to be at one with nature in the countryside surroundings here at Lifehouse Hotel and Spa.
