ishga Detoxifying Seaweed Body Wrap review

Being lucky enough to have just returned from a week in the Spanish sunshine, I thought I would book in for an ishga Detoxifying Seaweed Body Wrap to clean my skin of all the toxins that had built up over my holiday. This was my first ever ishga treatment, and because I didn’t have time to research the brand or the treatment beforehand I really had no expectations. I know Lifehouse well however, and trust the staff to take great care of me no matter what I booked in for.

As soon as I arrived I felt immediately relaxed as I sat in my robe waiting for my therapist, Wendy. Wendy was clearly knowledgeable and well-informed on both the brand and the treatment, and immediately made me feel at ease in her company.

Wendy explained that ishga was a Scottish brand that used organic products produced in the Outer Hebredies and the Isle of Lewis. The Seaweed that would be used in my treatment had been harvested naturally so that it can regrow. Knowing that ishga is a brand committed to sustainability is something really important to me and would make me a lot more likely to chose them in future.

Beginning with a full body scrub, using an ishga salt and oil scrub, this allowed for all the dead skin to be removed. The first thing I noticed about the body scrub is that it smelled amazing! (As do most of the isgha products that were used on me).

Following this a warm seaweed algae gel was applied all over my body. This dissolved the grainy exfoliator to create a rich and hydrating body wrap. Wendy then wrapped me up in the towels to allow the seaweed to soak into my skin while giving me a relaxing head massage. Tip: if you’re prone to falling asleep during treatments – you’re likely to be fast asleep by this point!

After I rinsed off the seaweed and exfoliator scrub in the shower, my therapist applied a luscious ishga oil all over my body to finish. After the treatment my skin felt super soft and glowing and Wendy assured me that the scrub will not have taken my tan off – rather it would encourage it to last longer!

Wendy explained after my treatment that this treatment is great for detoxifying, digestion, water retention, blood circulation and cellulite – what’s not to love!

This was one of the most relaxing and indulgent treatments I have ever had and I would highly recommend it to others who feel their skin needs rejuvenated too.

This treatment is currently on special offer as our August treatment of the month, for more info click here.
