We’re delighted to have been recognised in the latest Spa Finder Awards for our expertise and dedication to wellness.   We’ve been nominated for the ‘Exceptional Wellness Experience in the UK’ award and we would love it if you could please vote for us.  But before you do, let us tell you a little bit more about our incredible team and the wellness treatments that we have to offer.

Recovery Treatment

This is a personalised spa treatment to suit our guests with cancer or those in post-cancer recovery and is also recommended for anyone who wants to feel better after illness, bereavement, burnout or stress.

The Recovery Treatment is all about adapting spa treatments to suit individual needs, so there is no set format.  In the allotted treatment time of 50 minutes it is quite possible for a guest to enjoy a mini-facial, scalp massage and relaxing foot massage.  Others may choose to have a deeply relaxing back massage with some Reiki to balance them.  Any combination is possible and the treatment can include oils or be performed whilst the guest remains fully clothed.  Some of our therapists have also been trained in a technique called HEARTS which stands for ‘Hands On, Empathy, Aromatherapy, Textures and Sound’.   This is especially beneficial for guests feeling anxious and stressed.  It enables the therapist to perform a truly holistic treatment that responds to all of the senses.  This includes the selection of aroma sticks with essential oils which the guest can sniff alongside learning anchoring techniques to instill feelings of peace and happiness.

Holistic Harmony

This is a totally unique four-hand therapy combining therapeutic massage and healing touch.  Feel totally indulged while two skilled therapists work in harmony to ease any aches and tension and intuitively balance and restore energy meridians. Prepare to literally float out of the treatment room!

This is a relaxing therapy that works by applying pressure to the feet, hands or ears with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. It is based on what reflexologists believe to be a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands, with the premise that such work affects a physical change to the body.

Meditation is a contemplative practice using breathing and visualization to achieve ultimate relaxation, clarity and purpose in one’s life.  A comprehensive scientific study has shown that deep relaxation changes our bodies on a genetic level and this has now been published.  What researchers at Harvard Medical School discovered is that, in long term practitioners of relaxation methods such as yoga and meditation, far more ‘’disease-fighting genes’’ were active, compared to those who practiced no form of relaxation.   In particular they found genes that protect from disorders such as pain, infertility, high blood pressure and even rheumatoid arthritis were switched on.  The changes, say the researchers, were induced by what they call ‘’the relaxation effect’’, a phenomenon that could be just as powerful as any medical drug but without the side effects.

Flower Remedies Consultation

Flower Remedies are an ancient system of medicine first discovered by the Australian Aboriginals. This session will help to identify any imbalances from your ‘filing cabinet of life’ and address these with the appropriate essences.  You will receive your own tailored bottle of Australian bush flower remedy to take home at the end of the session.

Some of our team of highly qualified spa therapists have been specially trained at the NHS Christie Trust to personalise treatments for those with cancer or in post cancer recovery. We even have a Lifecoach and Physiotherapist on site!

Whatever the reason for your visit, our aim is to help our guests achieve harmony so that you leave Lifehouse equipped with new knowledge and techniques that give you control over your own wellbeing and health.

We’d love if you could please vote for us in the Spa Finder Awards. We’ve been nominated in the ‘Exceptional Wellness Experience in the UK’ category. Go to before 16th September 2014 to register your vote and to see their Terms & Conditions.
