Indulge the senses with the heavenly scent of Frangipani
My therapist Sarah collected me from the Spa Lounge waiting area and lead me into her treatment room where she began the pre-treatment consultation. She talked me through the treatment, explained the benefits of the treatment on my skin and asked me if I had any concerns with my skin at the moment. I’d just returned home from a week’s sun holiday so my skin was slightly more dehydrated than normal, making this the perfect treatment to rehydrate and moisturise my skin all over.
I’d smelt ELEMIS’s Frangipani range a couple of times before so I knew I was in for a real treat, however I think I slightly underestimated the luxurious sensations and smells that fill the room when Frangipani oil has been applied over the majority of your body – it smells like heaven. In fact hours after my treatment I kept catching myself smelling my arms!
To begin the treatment, Sarah asked me to lay face down on the massage couch. As she walked back into the treatment room she made me feel instantly ease as she wafted lime essence underneath my noise and told me to take two deep breaths in, instantly making me relax. A foot cleanse was then performed with some hot mitts, covered in the lime essence which was utter bliss.
Sarah then made sure I was comfortable, uncovered the towel from one half of my body and drizzled warm Frangipani oil over my leg and up one side of my back. The Frangipani Monoi Oil was applied with sweeping strokes up and down the body. It was then repeated on the other side of my body. As I've already mentioned, the smell is utterly divine! I was then turned over and Sarah again uncovered one half of my body and drizzled the oil up that side, then repeated on the other side. After this Sarah cocooned me in a towel, locking in the Frangipani goodness.
Whilst I relaxed in my Frangipani cocoon, Sarah began to prepare my skin for a facial by gently removing my eye make up with ELEMIS’s White Flowers Eye and Lip Makeup Remover. Sarah explained that she caters the facial products in this treatment depending on the guest's skin type and opted for the ELEMIS Papaya Enzyme Peel as the exfoliator for my skin – again, as with all of the ELEMIS products, this also smells divine. After this I thought the treatment simply could not get any better, but Sarah proceeded to perform a scalp massage which was so relaxing that I could have drifted off to sleep.
Sarah then unwrapped me from my Frangipani cocoon and proceeded to buff the excess oil off with hot mitts. You can opt to shower the oil off at this point if you wish, however, as my skin was slightly dehydrated from the sun, a lot of the oil had already soaked in, so we decided to buff it with hot mitts instead. After this Sarah applied the Skin Nourishing Body Lotion and my skin felt super-hydrated and moisturised.
This treatment truly is a head to toe treat including a full body moisturising massage, facial and scalp massage. I would not hesitate to have this super-relaxing, luxurious, hydrating treatment again - in fact I wish I could have it every day!
