Ugo's Supper Club - March

With the dawn of a vibrant new season comes an abundance of sweet, fresh vegetables to delight the senses. We are proud to host our first all-vegetarian Supper Club menu and look forward to celebrating with you the arrival of Spring, on this intimate evening of beautifully prepared dishes, each one perfectly paired with hand-selected, vegetarian wines.

 

A Celebration of Spring Vegetables
Wednesday 18th March 2020, 6pm

Hosted by Ugo Simonelli, Executive Chef at Lifehouse Spa & Hotel,
joined by Peter Rowe and Jane Macaulay of Liberty Wines

Menu

Roasted local mixed cauliflower
with a roasted tomato and Agresto salsa
Paired with Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
flavours of nectarine, citrus and tropical fruits with a touch of spice and blossom

Amalfi lemon ravioli
in a rosemary and hazelnut sauce
Paired with Gavi di Gavi, Terre Antiche, Piemonte, Italy
fresh with hints of lime zest and apple

Neopolitan-style stuffed aubergine
with a light basil pesto
Paired with ‘Pipoli’ Greco Fiano, Basilicata, Italy
aromas of tropical fruit, rich yet fresh with a lime zest character

Touraine Rouge Gamay-Cabernet Franc, Loire, France
a light fresh red with fruity aromas of strawberry & raspberry, and a smooth finish

Cheese
Old Winchester, Somerset Brie, Mrs Temple’s Binham Blue
Paired with Sandeman 20 year Tawny Port
rich yet elegant, full of dried fruit and spice flavours with a smooth and complex finish

Apple tarte tatin
with crème anglaise
Paired with Rutherglen Muscat, Victoria, Australia
tawny red in colour with aromas of rose petals, raisins and dried fruit, rich yet zesty
